Community Impact Grants
Funding for community projects across the UK and Ireland
Looking for funding for church community projects or Christian charity work?
Benefact Trust’s Community Impact Grants programme supports churches, cathedrals and Christian charities, delivering projects that make a meaningful difference to communities.
We support work that strengthens local communities, responds to need, and helps Christian organisations grow their mission and outreach.
Before applying, we encourage you to read the Community Impact Grants programme guidance to help you understand eligibility and check that your project is a good fit for our funding priorities.
Please note: This programme does not fund capital or building projects. If your project involves church repairs, restoration, or building works, please apply to our Building Grants Programme.
Community Impact Grants
Our Community Impact Grants programme provides revenue funding for projects that support Christian mission and deliver social impact across the UK and Ireland.
We prioritise funding for projects that:
- Address social challenges facing communities, such as poverty, homelessness, isolation and loneliness, and addiction or substance misuse
- Grow and sustain congregations and Christian communities, such as faith development, youth work, church planting, volunteer training, or staff roles that support long-term sustainability (for example, volunteer coordinators or bookings administrators)
We typically fund projects lasting up to three years and may contribute towards core costs where these are essential to delivering your project.
Who Can Apply
We welcome applications from Christian organisations delivering community-focused projects.
Eligible applicants include:
- Christian charities
- Churches and cathedrals
- Dioceses and denominational bodies
This funding supports community activity and service delivery, rather than building or construction work.
*Schools and hospices are not eligible for this programme, but they can apply to Building Grants for chapel projects.
